
Small earthquake hits NYC causing buildings to shake

A 1.7 magnitude earthquake struck New York City Tuesday morning with residents on the East River's Roosevelt Island reporting hearing a loud explosion and buildings shaking.
The FDNY responded to reports of a "building shaking" and an "explosion" on the island, which is located to the southwest of Astoria, according to Fox 5 NY. Michael Dorgan is a writer for Fox News Digital and Fox Business.
