Shura candidate calls for voter participation

Saoud al-Mohannadi, a Shura Council election candidate for the Al Khor and Al Thakira district, has highlighted the importance of every eligible Qatari participating in the election and casting his or her vote. “Your voice matters. Let us work together hand in hand to see positive change in the country,” said al-Mohannadi in a statement. “It is the responsibility of each eligible Qatari woman and man to contribute to this new democratic process in Qatar and vote.” On October 2, the country will be witnessing its first-ever Shura Council election. The purpose of these elections is to develop a legislative process with greater participation from Qatar’s citizens that reflects the values of the Qatari constitution and Qatar National Vision 2030, the statement added.
