Sanjay Dutt's menacing look in the upcoming film Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor, has been the talk of the town ever since the trailer was released. The actor's mind-blowing look has only added to the buzz around the film. Sanjay Dutt will be seen in the role of the ruthless Inspector Shuddh Singh. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Sanjay Dutt credited his director Karan Malhotra for always coming up with whacky, evil characters for him, from Agneepath to Shamshera.
Sanjay Dutt and Karan Malhotra are coming together for Shamshera after the superhit venture, Agneepath, starring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. His role of Kancha Cheena in Agneepath is still remembered as one of the most epic villains on screen. And now, he is back to give us yet another deliciously evil character, Suddh Singh, in Shamshera.
Talking about his character, the Munna Bhai MBBS actor reveals, "Shamshera is an out-and-out commercial film. I was waiting to do a movie like this. Karan always picks some wacky looks for me. He works a lot on his characters. Even in Agneepath, he had a certain look for me that was much loved. In this (Shamshera) film, my character is scary, but at the same time, pyaara bhi hain (he is loving)."
Sanjay Dutt continued, "When Karan comes to me, he simply says 'yeh role karna hain' and I just agree to it. I don't listen to the role or anything else. We have learned to trust him so much."
Directed by Karan Malhotra, Shamshera is a period action drama. Apart from Hindi, Shamshera will also be released in Tamil and Telugu languages. Along with Vaani Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, the film will also feature Ashutosh Rana, Saurabh Shukla and Ronit Roy. Shamshera will release in theatres on July 22.
