Shubman Gill or Mayank Agarwal? Sunil Gavaskar suggests a way to pick India opener for England Tests

Batting great Sunil Gavaskar has said that India should send Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal to open together in practice matches and then pick one for England Tests on the basis of their performance and technique.

Shubman Gill played ahead of Mayank Agarwal in the home Test series versus England and then in all-important historic World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand in Southampton but failed on both the occasions. After his return from the Australia series, where he scored a flamboyant 91 in the 2nd innings of Gabba Test, Gill has failed to impress and questions are now being raised over his form and place in the squad as an opener. There are murmurs that Gill will have to move down the order to survive in Test cricket.
