Indian cricket team batter Shubman Gill gave a perfect reply to his critics with a brilliant century on Day 3 of the second Test match against England in Vishakhapatnam on Sunday. Gill had a couple of close shaves at the start of his knock but the right-hander bounced back and ended up slamming 104 off 147 deliveries. It was a much-needed ton for Gill who has struggled in Test cricket lately and according to a report by Indian Express, he even received an ultimatum from the team management of the Test match. The report claimed that Gill was given the ultimatum after his duck in the second innings of the first Test and he was likely to play Ranji Trophy to work on his technique. If Gill did not perform well in this match, it was likely that he would have travelled to Mohali where Punjab will host Gujarat from February 9.
“I will go and play the Ranji Trophy match against Gujarat in Mohali,” Gill told one of his family members.
Spinners Tom Hartley and Rehan Ahmed helped England bowl out India for 255, with the tourists needing a record 399 to win the second Test after Shubman Gill's century on Sunday.
