Sheikh Joaan attends meeting of presidents of GCC Olympic Committees

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani attended the 34th meeting of the Council of Presidents of GCC National Olympic Committees in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday. The meeting reviewed and discussed different topics on its agenda to enhance the GCC common work in the field of sport. On the other hand, Sheikh Joaan also attended the opening ceremony of the Saudi Games 2022, held at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh on Friday. Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, QOC First Vice President HE Mohamed bin Yousef al-Mana and QOC Secretary General HE Jassim bin Rashid al-Buenain also attended the opening ceremony. The inaugural event is being held in Riyadh until November 7. The Saudi Games is being held in 20 venues across the city of Riyadh and features a total of 45 sports, including five Paralympic events, with more than 6,000 athletes set to participate.
