She’ll stand by you: Mithun Chakraborty campaigns for BJP’s Agnimitra Paul ahead of bypolls

BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty has released a video in which he is campaigning for his party's candidate Agnimitra Paul in the upcoming bypoll to the Asansol Lok Sabha seat.
After nearly a year of staying away from political events and rallies, actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has now released a video asking voters in Asansol Lok Sabha constituency to vote for BJP’s Agnimitra Paul in the upcoming bypolls.
In the video, he referred to Agnimitra Paul as ‘his sister’ and said, “She is an acclaimed designer and comes from a good background. She won't loot. She wants to work for development.”
He added, “She will stand by you. She is not here for anything else.”
The actor stated that due to various health conditions, he would not be able to campaign for Agnimitra Paul physically in Asansol.
“Don’t fear. Go out and vote for Agnimitra on election day,” Mithun Chakraborty said.
Mithun Chakraborty had joined BJP in March 2021, ahead of the West Bengal election.
The bypolls in Ballygunge Assembly and Asansol Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal will be held on April 12. Counting of the votes will take place on April 16.
