Shashi Tharoor trolled for viral pic with women MPs. Mimi Chakraborty responds
India Today
TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty has responded as Congress MP Shashi Tharoor found himself at the receiving end of social media after he uploaded a picture with fellow women MPs.
Trinamool Congress MP and Bengali actress Mimi Chakraborty has responded as Congress MP Shashi Tharoor found himself at the receiving end of social media for posting a selfie with the women MPs on Monday. What Tharoor also said with respect to the picture is that the Lok Sabha is an “attractive place to work”. The post, which was shared as the Winter Session of the Parliament commenced today, has impressed neither social media users nor politicians. Mr. Tharoor, Loksabha is for Legislation not for taking selfies with women and calling them "Attractive". You are settling a wrong precedent for future MPs.....@mlkhattar He didn’t take the selfie sir i did. https://t.co/xelIrFyNWJ Who says the Lok Sabha isn’t an attractive place to work? With six of my fellow MPs this morning: @supriya_sule @preneet_kaur @ThamizhachiTh @mimichakraborty @nusratchirps @JothimaniMP pic.twitter.com/JNFRC2QIq1 The whole selfie thing was done (at the women MPs' initiative) in great good humour & it was they who asked me to tweet it in the same spirit. I am sorry some people are offended but i was happy to be roped in to this show of workplace camaraderie. That's all this is. https://t.co/MfpcilPmSB
Several politicians took a dig at Tharoor. MLA Rajesh Nagar took to Twitter and censured Shashi Tharoor for clicking selfies with women in the Lok Sabha. “Mr Tharoor, Lok Sabha is for legislation not for taking selfies with women and calling them "attractive". You are setting a wrong precedent for future MPs,” Rajesh Nagar tweeted.
