Several groups seek protest permits at Dem Convention, as parallels drawn to violent 1968 confab
Fox News
Chicago is primed to see massive protests during the Democratic National Convention, in what some observers are calling a potential redux of the violence seen at the 1968 DNC.
Fox News Digital reached out to three city agencies in charge of permitting, the Parks District, Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the city Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. Charles Creitz is a reporter for Fox News Digital.
A representative for CDOT said that, under municipal code, permits are reviewed by multiple departments to screen for potential conflicts, safety issues and availability of necessary city resources. He joined Fox News in 2013 as a writer and production assistant.
Charles covers media, politics and culture for Fox News Digital.
