
Seniors 80 years and older, some front-line health workers can now get booster shots, NACI recommends

Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) is now recommending COVID-19 booster shots for all Canadian adults 80 years of age and older, as well as certain other groups who may be at increased risk of lowered protection over time since their initial vaccinations.
Those include:
NACI has already recommended third doses for people living in long-term care homes and people with specific immunocompromising conditions.

In February, five people were killed in separate avalanches across B.C. and Alberta. That same month, more than a dozen people were killed in California and Utah, including a particularly deadly avalanche that claimed the lives of nine. In Europe, from Andorra to Slovakia, the season has recorded 125 deaths from avalanches so far.
