The Mangaluru City police are searching for a scooterist who broke the windshield of a KSRTC bus in Alape in Mangaluru, following an altercation with a KSRTC bus driver.
The Kankanady police said that Arun, the driver of the KSRTC Ashwamedha bus bound to Bengaluru, questioned the scooterist for blocking the way of the bus. The scooterist chased the bus and blocked the way at Alape around 7.30 p.m. The scooterist then broke a portion of the windshield with his helmet and sped away.
The Kankanady police rushed to the spot and arranged another bus for passengers. Following a complaint by Arun on obstruction in discharging official duty, the police registered a case.

The Union and State governments provided support in several ways to the needy people, but private institutions should also extend help, especially to those requiring medical assistance, said C.P. Rajkumar, Managing Director, Nalam Multispeciality Hospital, here on Saturday. Speaking at a function to honour Inspector General of Police V. Balakrishnan and neurologist S. Meenakshisundaram with C. Palaniappan Memorial Award for their contribution to society and Nalam Kappom medical adoption of Type-1 diabetic children, he said the governments implemented numerous welfare programmes, but the timely help by a private hospital or a doctor in the neighbourhood to the people in need would go a long way in safeguarding their lives.
