CBC
Schools from the Avalon Peninsula to Clarenville are closed for the morning on Monday, as the region digs out from the latest snowfall.
N.L. Schools will have an update at 10:30 a.m., on whether or not dozens of schools will remain closed or open for the afternoon.
About 12 centimetres of snow fell in St. John's overnight, according to Environment Canada, with a further 2-4 centimetres expected throughout the morning. Winds gusting to 60 km/hr created drifting and poor visibility in some areas.
A winter storm warning remains in effect.
Metrobus also delayed its services Monday morning, with a further update by noon. The departures board at St. John's International Airport is also showing a long list of delayed or cancelled flights.
The snow also brought the justice system to a halt, as all four courts in St. John's were closed for the morning.
