This week, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center conducted its school outreach initiative with visits to two educational institutions, aiming to instil ethical values and social responsibility among students.
The Islamic Culture Department led a session at Mashhoor Al-Haq Bengali School, engaging 40 students in an enlightening talk titled “Plant a Tree and Earn a Charity.”
The lecture emphasised the importance of environmental consciousness as a form of ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah) and highlighted the diverse ways individuals can engage in righteous deeds that benefit society and the planet.
Simultaneously, at the SIS American School, the Center preachers delivered two lectures addressing hundreds of students on the pressing issue of bullying. His talks explored bullying as a negative social phenomenon, discussed Islam’s firm stance against it, and promoted core values such as compassion, respect, and proper conduct.
Al-Noori emphasised the critical role that character and ethical behaviour play in creating a harmonious and inclusive school environment.
