Sanya Malhotra, Harman Baweja come together for Hindi remake of The Great Indian Kitchen

Sanya Malhotra and Harman Baweja have come together for the Hindi remake of The Great Indian Kitchen. The film will be directed by Arati Kadav.

Harman Baweja will produce the Hindi remake of the hit Malayalam film, The Great Indian Kitchen. Directed by Arati Kadav, Sanya Malhotra will play the female lead in the Hindi remake.

Sharing a picture with Sanya Malhotra and Harman Baweja, director Arati Kada announced the the Hindi remake of The Great Indian Kitchen. She wrote, “One of the best happenstance is coming across this wonderful set of people on a mission to tell a beautiful nuanced pan Indian story that every person in this country relates to (sic).”

She added, “@sanyamalhotra_ is magic from the word go. I have tremendous love and gratitude that she is the face of such an important story and has such deep understanding of the world around her. #harmanbaweja is the warmest gem of a producer with a great sense of humour (who keeps us in splits) and he has such a wonderful understanding of the subject at hand (sic).”

Concluding her note, Aarti wrote, “We all are super huge fans of the original and are so delighted that we have @anusinghc here to adapt it for us - I love her passion, her experience and the female gaze she is bringing to the story. Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen written and directed by Jeo Baby was released in 2021. Starring Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu as a married couple, the film showed the wife’s struggles with a patriarchal household.
