The Mumbai Police have recorded the statement of actor Salman Khan after a death threat note addressed to him was found on Sunday.
A day after an unsigned letter with the message “tumhara Moose Wala kar denge (you will end up like Moose Wala)” addressed to actor Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan was found at Mumbai’s Bandra Bandstand promenade, the Mumbai Police recorded Salman Khan’s statement.
Probing the death threat, the police also recorded the statements of four other people including Salim Khan.
The police are going through CCTV footage from the area around Bandstand.
The threat letter bears the initials ‘GBLB’ and the police are probing whether this refers to Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi, main accused in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case. The police is investigating details of Brar and Bishnoi’s gang members in Maharashtra.
According to the police, Salim Khan went to the promenade for his morning walk around 7:40 am on Sunday and sat on the bench he usually sits on after his walk. The letter was found there.
“Salim Khan contacted the police through his security guard. His statement has been recorded and an offence registered under the Indian Penal Code for ‘criminal intimidation’," they said.
Salim Khan has told the police that he sits on the same bench every day after his walk. On Sunday, he was accompanied by his two bodyguards. One of them noticed the letter on the bench. The letter read: “Salim Khan Salman Khan bahot jald tumahra Moosewala hoga k.G.B.L.B”. The letter has been handed over to the police.
