Russian lawmakers pass bill to ban 'propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations'
Fox News
Russian lawmakers passed a bill that puts tough new restrictions on LGBTQ rights. The bill will affect advertising, media, books, films and theater productions.
International human rights groups denounced the law for creating a hostile environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer Russians.
The new bill, which the lower house of Russia's parliament unanimously approved on the first of three readings, ramps up the restrictions and expands the presentation ban to cover all age groups, not just the under-18 population.
