Rubio rips DHS discrepancy between Cuba, Mexico: Where was Mayorkas' warning for Rio Grande crossers?

On this week's airing of “Life, Liberty & Levin,” host Mark Levin discussed the ongoing unrest in Cuba with Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, as civilians on the island 90 miles south of Key West protest to demand basic rights and liberty – and while the dictatorial government of President Miguel Diaz-Canel continues to oppress his people while detaining and punishing demonstrators.
"First of all, … I don't suggest anyone in Cuba take to the sea, OK? It's not the right thing to do," said Rubio. The senator added that the U.S. must be tactful in its response so as not to be taken advantage of by the Cuban regime as it was during the 1980 Mariel boatlift when Fidel Castro emptied the jails as Cubans fled to the U.S. "We have to be aware that the regime in the past has used mass migration as a weapon in 1994 and during Mariel, they used it against the United States as a weapon and that can't be tolerated," he said, noting how Castro responded to President Jimmy Carter's overtures by including many convicts in the emigrating groups.More Related News
