Rohit Sharma wants the players to share a strong bond when they play for India and focus only on whatever happens on the field rather than pay attention to the outside noise.
India's new ODI captain Rohit Sharma has shut out the outside noise and only focusing on the job at hand after taking over the reigns from Virat Kohli last week. The Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) decision to make Rohit the white-ball captain angered Virat Kohli's fans but the selectors did not want to have two different players leading the T20I and ODI teams. "The pressure will always be there. As a cricketer, it is important to focus on my job."SPECIAL - @ImRo45's first interview after being named #TeamIndia’s white-ball captain coming up on https://t.co/Z3MPyesSeZ. Kohli had stepped down from the post of the T20I skipper after the World Cup in UAE last month but wanted to remain the ODI skipper. The selectors thought that would have created confusion in the two teams and therefore, took the call to give Rohit the captaincy in limited-overs cricket.
