Morse played Bert Cooper on "Mad Men," garnering several Emmy nominations, and originated the lead in the Tony-winning musical "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."
His friend, the screenwriter Larry Karaszewski, and Morse's son Charlie confirmed his death on Twitter and to CNN affiliate KABC, respectively.
A beloved stage actor with two Tony Awards and a handful of Emmy nominations (plus a win), Morse's career spanned over 60 years.

The two men killed as they floated holding onto their capsized boat in a secondary strike against a suspected drug vessel in early September did not appear to have radio or other communications devices, the top military official overseeing the strike told lawmakers on Thursday, according to two sources with direct knowledge of his congressional briefings.
