Richard Scott William Hutchinson holds the Guinness World Record for being the most prematurely delivered baby to survive. He was given 0% odds of survival since he was born way ahead of his scheduled delivery date. The little one celebrated his first birthday on June 5, 2021. However, she went into labour unexpectedly several months ahead of her due delivery date because of some complications. Rick Hutchinson held intensive discussions with the doctors and finally, a plan was chalked out. They agreed to deliver Richard and do everything in their hands to ensure his survival. When Richard was born, he was so small that he could hardly fit in one of his parents’ hands. Richard was born at a gestational age of 21 weeks 2 days, making him 131 days premature. He weighed only 340 grams and measured 26 cms, a Guinness World Records statement read.
