Rethink move to cancel Kanwar Yatra: Vishwa Hindu Parishad urges UP, Uttarakhand govts

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has urged the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to allow Kanwar Yatra with Covid-19 protocols. The VHP also said the judiciary must not be "selective" in allowing certain religious activities while cancelling others.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has urged the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to reconsider their decision of cancelling Kanwar Yatra, saying they should allow the pilgrimage with Covid-19 protocols. "Didn't Jagannath Yatra take place while following precautions? Didn't the Kerala government decide to allow Bakrid to take place with some relaxations?" ANI quoted Vishwa Hindu Parishad's (VHP) international joint general secretary Surendra Jain as saying.
