Retail inflation eased slightly in June but remained RBI's upper target of 6 per cent for the second consecutive month due to higher food and fuel prices.
India’s retail inflation eased marginally to 6.26 per cent in June after rising sharply in May, according to data released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Monday. The retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 6.3 per cent in May. This is the second consecutive month when retail inflation breached the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) upper target range of 6 per cent. An earlier poll of 37 economists conducted by Reuters suggested that the inflation rate for June would be 6.58 per cent.More Related News
