Republicans worry about Georgia Senate race with Herschel Walker's liabilities on display

Despite a political climate that favors the Republican Party nationally and in Georgia, some in the GOP are expressing concern the must-win Senate race in the Peach State is in danger of slipping away, thanks to nominee Herschel Walker's liabilities as a candidate -- and a campaign that has failed so far to figure out how to neutralize them.
Those liabilities were on display during an appearance he made last week at a local GOP picnic in Hall County, northeast of Atlanta, when Walker spoke confusingly about climate change in a widely distributed video.
"Since we don't control the air, our good air decided to float over to China's bad air. So when China gets our good air, their bad air got to move. So it moves over to our good air space. Then -- now we got we to clean that back up," Walker said.
When Kenyan President William Ruto touched down in Beijing seven months ago, he was welcomed on the tarmac with a red carpet and cordons of Chinese troops standing at attention. Among the goals of his three-day state visit in October: Securing another $1 billion in loans from China to help complete infrastructure projects.
