Rep. Biggs urges Biden to keep to timeline for US withdrawal from Afghanistan
Fox News
Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., on Monday urged President Biden to keep to the current timeline for withdrawal from Afghanistan, warning that any delay could lead to a "slippery slope."
Under the Trump administration, the U.S. agreed to a deal with the Taliban that sees all troops withdrawn by May, in return for peace talks and a cessation of attacks from the extremist Islamic movement. It would bring an end to a U.S. involvement that began shortly after 9/11. But Biggs noted the findings of a recent study which recommends that the United States withdrawal date be extended "in order to give the peace process sufficient time to produce an acceptable result."More Related News
