Relief for Munmun Dutta as SC stays 5 FIRs against the TMKOC actress

The Supreme Court has put a stay order on the five FIRs registered against Munmun Dutta for using a casteist slur. A notice has been issued to club the five FIRs.

Actress Munmun Dutta can breathe a sigh of relief. The Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress got into trouble after she used a casteist slur on social media which didn't go down well with the people. The Supreme Court stayed the five FIRs registered against Munmun Dutta in different parts of the country. Justices Hemant Gupta and V Ramasubramaniam issued a notice on the television actress's plea to club and consolidate the five FIRs. During the hearing, Munmun's lawyer told the court that the actress wasn't aware of the true meaning of the word she used. However, the court dismissed it by saying that it's not true as the same word is used in Bangla.
