
RCMP issue shelter-in-place order for Annapolis, Digby and Yarmouth counties

Nova Scotia RCMP are asking residents in Annapolis, Digby and Yarmouth counties to stay inside and lock their doors and windows.
An emergency alert was issued around 10 p.m. AT because of a "dangerous man" with a firearm.
Police did not describe or name the man.
"Seek immediate SHELTER or STAY INSIDE and close and lock doors and windows. Do not leave a secure location," the alert read.
Police said the man was last seen on foot in the 8800 block of Highway 101 in Brighton, Digby County.
"Do not provide a ride to anyone asking for one," the alert stated. "Do not pick up hitch hikers. Do not disclose police locations."
The RCMP said to call 911 to report emergencies or tips.
