Adam Sykora was named player of the game for Slovakia after a lopsided loss to Canada at the IIHF World Championship this summer in Stockholm, Sweden.
It was a tough 7-0 defeat at the hands of the NHL-studded Canadian team, which ultimately played a role in Slovakia failing to qualify for the quarterfinals. But then the 21-year-old forward saw who was coming out to accept the same postgame honors for Canada: Sidney Crosby.
Sykora had a poster of Crosby on his wall growing up in Pieštany, Slovakia.
