Rangers’ polarizing first line peaking just in time for NHL playoffs
NY Post
The Rangers’ most polarizing line is playing some of its best hockey at the perfect time.
Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider and Jack Roslovic, who have largely been grouped together on the team’s first line in recent weeks after Roslovic’s arrival ahead of the trade deadline, produced four points during the Rangers’ 4-0 win over the Senators on Monday night at Madison Square Garden.
The win clinched the Presidents’ Trophy and home-ice advantage throughout the entirety of the playoffs for the Rangers, who will face the Capitals in the first round.
Kreider delivered two assists, Zibanejad added an assist and Roslovic scored the game’s opening goal.
The game prior, a 3-2 shootout win over the Islanders on Saturday, Kreider and Zibanejad each recorded an assist.
“Excellent. They were excellent,” head coach Peter Laviolette said after Monday’s game. “Last game, and [Monday night] as well. Really good [sign]. All three of them I thought played extremely well.”

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
