Rangers’ Mika Zibanejad to play for Sweden in World Championships
NY Post
Mika Zibanejad was never more in his element this year than when playing for Sweden in the 4 Nations Tournament in February.
There was a glow to him as he talked about sharing a locker room with countrymen who all spoke the same native language.
Zibanejad will be pulling on the Tre Kronor once again, representing his country in the World Championships that will be contested in Stockholm and Herning, Sweden, from May 9-25.
Coming off a miserable NHL season, Zibanejad recorded one goal in two games in the 4 Nations before missing the final game against Team USA with the flu.
A prime candidate for the 2026 Olympic Games, the 32-year-old center posted 62 points (20-42) for the Rangers.
Zibanejad made the announcement on his Instagram page.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden. There were 19,156 frenzied fans on their feet begging for blood, poised for the kill.
