Rangers interview Rick Tocchet for head-coach job
NY Post
Rick Tocchet interviewed for the Rangers vacant head-coaching job Tuesday, according to NHL Network.
The Post’s Larry Brooks reported last week that the Blueshirts and new president-general manager Chris Drury were planning to meet with the 57-year-old Tocchet, who was fired by the Arizona Coyotes after four seasons with the team. The Coyotes were 125-131-34 record under Tocchet, and missed the playoffs this season after posting a 24-26-6 record. Arizona reached the postseason last year, but lost in the first round to Colorado after defeating Nashville in the qualifying round under the Edmonton bubble.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
