Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed new airline, Akasa Air, has got a license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The airline can now start operations.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed new airline, Akasa Air, has got an Air Operator Certificate from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The DGCA has cleared Akasa Air to commence operations.
In a tweet, Akasa Air said, "We are pleased to announce the receipt of our Air Operator Certificate (AOC). This is a significant milestone, enabling us to open our flights for sale and leading to the start of commercial operations." (sic)

On July 4, the airline had unveiled the first look of its crew uniform as the startup carrier prepares for take-off in the coming weeks.
In June, the airline had touched down at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi flying all the way from Seattle in the United States.
