India head coach Rahul Dravid lauded R Ashwin after the senior off-spinner surpassed Harbhajan Singh to become the third-highest wicket-taker of all time for India in Test cricket.
India coach Rahul Dravid on Monday hailed R Ashwin's phenomenal achievement as the star off-spinner became the country's third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket during the opening match against New Zealand. Dravid said that Ashwin has "grown" and "evolved" into a champion off-spinner and an absolute 'match-winner for India in the longest format.
Ashwin dismissed Tom Latham to claim his 418th Test wicket to go past Harbhajan Singh on the fifth and final day of the opening Test against New Zealand here. He is now only behind Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev in the overall standings.
