Racism raises Alzheimer’s risk for non-White Americans, HHS claims in new report
Fox News
A new HHS report on how to fight Alzheimer's disease and dementia says racism is a risk factor for non-White Americans, and suggested equity-based solutions.
The report recommended that one way to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s is to focus on "cultural competence and equity." Pete Kasperowicz is a politics editor at Fox News Digital.
"This requires that addressing SDOH [social determinants of health], entrenched systemic racism, and other forms of discrimination be prioritized, rather than focusing solely on individual behaviors," the report said.
