Cairo: Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) participated in several meetings held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, in preparation for the 104th regular session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the 22nd session of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, slated for next February in Kuwait.
The QMC delegation to the meetings was headed by Director of the International Cooperation and Agreements, Abdullah Ghanem Al Binali Al Mohannadi.
The meetings addressed a host of important topics, including the media roadmap for sustainable development, cybersecurity, the unified Arab plan for addressing environmental issues through media, the Arab strategy for media and information literacy, and the role of Arab media in combating terrorism.
During the fifth meeting of the Expert Group on the Media Roadmap for Sustainable Development, QMC reviewed the measures taken to produce awareness-raising television and radio programs aimed at promoting the importance of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Corporation noted that Qatar Radio had recently implemented a range of distinctive and high-quality radio programs and ongoing awareness campaigns, in addition to publishing a series of posts on social media platforms to support the SDGs. Qatar Radio, through its radio programming, has been keen to collaborate with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to enrich programs aimed at raising awareness of achieving the SDGs through a series of programs designed to increase environmental awareness and preserve ancestral heritage.
