Doha, Qatar: Tomorrow, May 6, sees one of the most special occasions in Qatar Foundation’s year unfold – and 17 years ago today, it happened for the very first time.
On May 6, 2008, Qatar Foundation (QF) – which this year marks its 30th anniversary – staged its inaugural Convocation: the milestone annual ceremony celebrating the graduates of universities within QF’s unique ecosystem of education.
On that night 17 years ago, at the Ceremonial Court in Education City, 122 students from four QF partner universities took the spotlight. At tonight’s ceremony, almost nine times that number will be celebrated for their academic successes and personal journeys within QF’s Hamad Bin Khalifa University and its seven partner universities.
