Tribune news networkdohaQatar Chamber (QC) First Vice Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar al Kuwari has hailed close ties linking Qatar and Brazil.He was speaking at a meeting held at the Chamber’s headquarters on Wednesday with a Brazilian trade mission led by Business Director at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce Daniella Ribeiro Leite.The meeting was attended by QC board member Mohamed bin Ahmed al Obaidly in the presence of representative of 12 Brazilian companies specialised in various sectors and their Qatari counterparts.Twar said the two countries’ trade volume reached nearly QR2.2 billion last year, indicating that Brazil is one of Qatar’s most important trade partners and Qatar is an important market for Brazilian products.As for mutual investments, he noted that there are many successful Qatari investments in Brazil in many sectors such as energy, banking, real estate, and others, pointing out that there are several Brazilian companies operating in Qatar in diverse sectors.Regarding Qatar’s investment climate, Twar said the State has managed to establish a sophisticated infrastructure and enact a host of economic legislations that aided in positioning Qatar as a leading destination for investment and business.He invited Brazilian companies to invest in Qatar and take advantage of the incentives offered by the country for foreign investors and the opportunities available in all sectors, foremost of which is food security, agriculture, tourism, construction, industry, and others.He also stressed that Qatar Chamber urges Qatari businessmen to invest in Brazil which owns tremendous potential and promising opportunities in all fields, assuring its readiness to help Brazilian firms willing to invest in Qatar.On her part, Daniella said the visiting delegation is looking forward to learning more about business climate in Qatar and opportunities cooperation with the Qatari side, as well as products that can be exported to the Qatari market.She also assured that the visit objective is to establish long-term partnerships with Qatari firms in various sectors in which the Brazilian delegation is specialized in.Obaidly said the Qatari market is attracting foreign investments, noting that the food security is a priority sector in Qatar and both sides can enhance cooperation in this sector, especially that Brazil has huge potential in this vital sector.
