The forum included several sessions and meetings focused on prospects of economic and trade cooperation between the Arab countries and Greece and means of enhancing them. He praised the growing relations between Qatar and Greece which witnessed a great development, especially in the commercial and investment aspects; noting that trade volume between Qatar and Greece recorded an increase of 120% to reach nearly QR897 million in 2021, compared to QR409 million in 2020. He noted that the second GCC-Greece business gathering was held on the sidelines of the forum. The meeting discussed the available investment opportunities, in addition to the two sides' experience in food industries and the possibility of exchanging knowledge, expertise and technology in this sector. Addressing the forums second session under the theme Electricity and Alternative Sources of Energy for a Sustainable Future, QC board member Dr. Khalid bin Klefeekh Al Hajri said that the State of Qatar has established itself as a key player in the global energy market, and it attaches great importance to energy production, whether traditional or renewable; noting that Qatar is the world's second largest LNG exporter and has plans and investments to expand of the North Field which will ramp up Qatars liquefaction capacity from 77 million tons per annum to 126 mtpa by 2027, marking a 64% increase. As for the renewable energy, Dr. Al Hajri pointed out that the State of Qatar has paid great attention to renewable and clean energy for years and is working on diversifying energy sources and benefiting from other natural resources such as wind and solar energy in line with its National Vision 2030.
