Qatar’s Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan claimed a second successive silver finish in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Cancun Hub 2nd event in Mexico on Monday. Their good show was applauded by Qatar Olympic Committee President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, who in a tweet said, “We congratulate the national team and the Qatar Volleyball Federation for this achievement, and good luck towards qualifying for the Olympiad.” In a repeat of the first event, the final was won by Norwegians Anders Mol and Christian Sorum 21-18, 21-18. The third and final event of the Cancun Hub qualification tournament will be played on Wednesday and the main draw will run until Sunday. (TNN)
