The International Court of Justice opened an investigation into allegations of war crimes after Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a "special military operation" in Ukraine on Feb. 24.
"The next step is to proceed with the process of seeking and obtaining authorization from the pre-trial chamber of the court to open an investigation," Khan said.
Dustin Lewis, research director at the Harvard Law School Program on International Law and Armed Conflict, told Fox News Digital the ICC will now investigate the allegations.
