Punjab govt college students get new scholarship scheme, free education for those getting above 90% marks

The Punjab cabinet has approved a scholarship scheme for government college students that offers varying concessions as per the marks scored by students.

On Wednesday, the Punjab government approved the implementation of the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme which will benefit government college students of the state. The annual financial implication for this scholarship will be Rs 36.05 crores.

The scholarship will help those from economically poor background, especially those form general categories. As per a government statement, it will also boost the gross enrolment ratio in higher education.
