After the massive popularity of Rajan Shahi's Anupamaa, Disney+ Hotstar is geared up to bring the prequel of the show, Anupama - Namaste America. The Hotstar Specials' show promises to keep the viewers hooked with its intriguing narrative and an amazing cast. Apart from an engaging storyline and Anupamaa’s younger look, there’s more to look forward to in the series. Actress Puja Banerjee, who was last seen in Star Bharat’s Vaishnodevi, will be seen in Anupma - Namaste America. The series premieres on April 25.
Pooja Banerjee has been roped to play Vanraaj’s ex-girlfriend, Rittika, in Anupma - Namaste America. While talking about the series, Puja Banerjee said, "Me and Sudhanshu share a great bond. We are like best friends! When I heard about Anupama-Namaste America, I was excited to work with him yet again after our first film together, Rajdhani Express. In the prequel series, I will be playing the role of Ritika who is Vanraaj’s ex-girlfriend from his college days. Ritika’s character in the show is bold and empowering, which perfectly resonates with my personality"
On associating with a show like Anupamaa, she said, "It is an overwhelming moment for me to be associated with a highly successful show like Anupamaa and share the screen with such a versatile actor Sudhanshu Pandey. I hope viewers will enjoy watching Ritika on the screen as I much as I enjoyed playing it."
Puja shared a picture with Sudhanshu on Instagram and wrote, "Here i present u Rittika Watch me & @sudanshu_pandey with a new avatar in #anupamanamasteamerica america only on @disneyplushotstar soon (sic),"

The 11-episode prelude to the television series Anupamaa will see Rupali Ganguly, who plays the lead character on television, reprise her popular role in the digital space. Joining her will be her on-screen husband Vanraj, played by Sudhanshu Pandey, as well as the entire cast of the TV show, which includes Alpana Buch, Arvind Vaidya, Paras Kalnwat, Ashish Mehrotra and Ekta Sariya. Anupama- Namaste America will also introduce a brand-new character from Anupamaa’s early years, Moti Baa played by veteran television actor Sarita Joshi. This special character will play a pivotal role in forming Anupamaa’s early life as an aspiring dancer. The episodes will be released over 11 days and will remain exclusively on the platform. The prequel to Anupamaa will not be aired on television.
