Psaki refuses to say if Biden thinks reconciliation should replace regular order in Senate
Fox News
White House press secretary Jen Psaki, asked if President Biden agrees with Sen. Joe Manchin that reconciliation should not be the “normal order” in the Senate, said the president would leave it up to the Hill to decide.
Manchin, D-W.Va., wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post arguing against using budget reconciliation in most cases. "I simply do not believe budget reconciliation should replace regular order in the Senate," the article read. Psaki read out other lines from the article that Biden agrees with. "Republicans, however, have a responsibility to stop saying no, and participate in finding real compromise with Democrats," was one line she read. But Manchin had also written, "Democrats must avoid the temptation to abandon our Republican colleagues on important national issues."More Related News
