
Pro athletes and leagues are sometimes at odds over vaccines, much like the rest of America

Star athletes are usually the face of a franchise or league, some are for the vaccine while others are hesitant.
Athletes around the world protested or refused to play in the name of racial justice. Leagues have taken a stance when it comes to policies that may negatively impact the very fans they hope to entertain, such as Major League Baseball recently pulling its All-Star Game out of Georgia because of its restrictive voting laws. And just this week, the first active NFL player announced that he is gay. Now, like communities across the country, some sports teams and players are grappling with another hot-button issue: Vaccine hesitancy.
Two top House lawmakers emerged divided along party lines after a private briefing with the military official who oversaw September’s attack on an alleged drug vessel that included a so-called double-tap strike that killed surviving crew members, with a top Democrat calling video of the incident that was shared as part of the briefing “one of the most troubling things” he has seen as a lawmaker.
