32-year-old man assaulted by KSTDC cab drivers at Kempegowda International Airport over parking dispute, leading to serious injuries.
A 32-year-old private firm employee was allegedly assaulted by a group of KSTDC cab drivers at Kempegowda International Airport over a trivial row over parking on Saturday (May 3, 2025).
The victim, Thanish Raghav, had gone to the airport to receive his wife and father coming from Rajasthan. While he had parked his car at the arrival terminal, a few cab drivers reportedly approached him and asked him to move the car.
Thanish told them he would do it in few minutes as he was waiting for his family. However, heated arguments ensued between them following which the accused ganged up against him, hurled abuses and thrashed him black and blue, Thanish claimed in his complaint to the police.
As he started bleeding from his nose, Thanish said he went to a nearby hospital for treatment where, after examination, the doctor reportedly told him that his nose had been fractured and needed surgery.
He later approached the police and filed a complaint with the details of the cab drivers. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case, charging the cab drivers under section 117 (2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 351 (criminal intimidation) and section 352 (intentional insults intended to provoke a breach of public peace) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023 for further investigation.

The silent reading movement in the Mylapore-Mandaveli-RA Puram area showed up first at Nageswara Rao Park around two years ago, with modest ambitions, when Balaji launched it along with other reading enthusiasts from the region. This initiative has now moved parks, and seems to set to get entrenched in one. Due to renovation work at Nageswara Park, the reading session became irregular. With the Nageswara Rao park work gaining more surface area, it had to be shifted elsewhere. And it seems set to continue with a newly discovered green patch in RK Nagar in the Sundays to follow.
