The southpaw looked in his elements as he paced his innings well and partnered for 64 and 105 runs with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli respectively. The senior opener's match-winning knock was laden with 11 fours and 2 sixes. Shikhar Dhawan was dropped from the playing XI of the last 4 T20Is after his failure in the first one against England in Ahmedabad. However, ahead of the series opener, captain Virat Kohli backed the 35-year-old and confirmed that he will open with Rohit Sharma.
