Monday saw a high-stakes sit-down between the leaders of two global superpowers. President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping met virtually in their most formal discussion since President Biden took office.
"The meeting in our view is an opportunity to set the terms of our competition," White House press secretary Jen Psaki said.
