Police are asking drivers and residents to avoid the area of Rabbit Hill Road SW just south of Ellerslie Road while police contain a residence where weapons may be present.

A spokesperson for the Edmonton Police Service says investigators believe there is no risk to public safety.

Residents in the immediate area have been contacted by police and asked to stay in their homes as a precaution.
