Police investigation into death of 1-year-old awaiting information from city, parents say

The police investigation into the death of the toddler who tragically fell from a balcony is awaiting "information" from the City of London in order to proceed, her parents tell CBC News.
CBC News is withholding the identity of the parents because they don't want to be known to the public, for fear of being retraumatized.
The child, now identified by her parents as one-year-old Inayah, died earlier this month after falling from the balcony of a high-rise at 400 Lyle street.
Inayah's father said that they've been in contact with the London police officer assigned to the case once a week for updates.
"We asked them, 'Do you have any clear answers?' So they said, 'Not as of now. We are still waiting for the city to release us some papers.'"
"And it depends on how soon they will get [those] documents," Inayah's mother added.
"It also depends on the city," her husband said. "How soon are they going to provide all the information, which needs to be completed for the investigating officer."
Intelligence regarding foreign interference sometimes didn't make it to the prime minister's desk in 2021 because Canada's spy agency and the prime minister's national security adviser didn't always see eye to eye on the nature of the threat, according to a recent report from one of Canada's intelligence watchdogs.
