The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) affirmed that the ‘Safe Return to School’ campaign, which was launched on August 29, coinciding with the beginning of the new school year 2021-2022, has achieved great and outstanding success in terms of enhancing efforts to protect students, as well as the teaching and administrative staff in schools, in the framework of combating the pandemic.
The corporation said that the campaign has targeted all the 279 government schools, and it included all age groups (kindergarten, primary, preparatory and secondary schools), as well as school workers, staff and parents. It recently updated the school-health protocol on the precautionary measures for health and safety during the pandemic in schools.
Head of School Health Department at PHCC Dr. Layla Al Dahnaim said that the main goal of the campaign, which is set to end tomorrow under the slogan ‘Defying COVID-19 With a Safe Return’, focused on the most important precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19 as well as the spread of infection among students and school workers, in addition to the importance of providing the necessary health awareness regarding the most common communicable and infectious diseases among students.
