Petrol, Diesel Prices Today: Fuel prices remained unchanged across metro cities on Sunday, January 23, 2022, for the 79th day in a row.
This is the second-longest pause in prices since the introduction of daily rate revision in June 2017. The longest halt in fuel prices was that of 82 days between March 17 and June 6, 2020, when the country was under a national lockdown.
Last month, the Delhi government had reduced the value-added tax on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.40 per cent. With this, petrol prices in the national capital were slashed by Rs 8.56 per litre.
